about
This is the first personal show of Karma Huong after a 7-year journey of finding a way to performing her own art in Saigon. Through her spiritual practices, she has come to see life as being comprised of multiple predestined lives woven together throughout a lifetime, with all of our karmic relationships evolving out of ideas implanted during our past and present lives. She has lived in a Buddhist temple for the past three years and will use the temple’s spiritual items for the performance. One of the items that she will use is an old drum that dates back several decades, from when her temple’s founding monk was still alive. Photographing the pages of the seminal text written by the master teacher himself, Karma Huong will use these scriptures to create Tibetan-style flags. She will also use 100 “predestined eggs” made of glass, which contains stones and materials related to feng shui, and singing bowls to create healing vibration sounds. Please note: to achieve the maximum effect for yourself, you should keep quiet during the performance. The best method is a sitting, meditating with eyes closed to keep a relaxed mind and limited movement. Also, please put your phones on silent mode. Performance will last 1 to 1.5 hours. Sunday, June 3 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
