Arnont Nongyao is a Thai artist based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Arnont works in different media including sound, video, and installation. His primary research interest is sound, with a concentration on vibration. Arnont’s diverse experimental projects, site-specific installations and public art search for the value of vibration derived from connected things, such as human beings, objects, and society. He mixes sound, light and moving image, and often invites audience participation. In this talk, Arnont Nongyao shared his creative process regarding DIY processes for sound production, including introductions to kinetic percussion, homemade synthesizers, and photoreceptors.
