Trần Lương (b. 1960, Hanoi) is one of the central figures of Vietnamese contemporary and performance art. he was a member of the Gang of Five (1983–96) and in 1998 co-founded Nhà Sàn Studio, Vietnam's first artist-led experimental space. he served as founding director of the Hanoi Contemporary Art Centre from 2000 until resigning in 2003 over government corruption. his work has been shown at the Fukuoka Triennale (2002), Liverpool Biennial (2002), Busan Biennale (2004), Havana Biennial (2009), Taipei Biennial (2016), Thailand Biennale (2018) and Jogja Biennale (2019). he curated an earlier version of Bàng Nhất Linh's "The Vacant Chair," shown at Bildmuseet, Umeå, Sweden.
