Nguyễn Trần Nam (b. 1979) is a Hà Nội-based multimedia artist closely associated with Nhà Sàn Collective, part of its second generation of contemporary artists. he graduated from the Việt Nam University of Fine Arts in 2003. his work draws on his own background — a working-class family, a childhood in rural Hưng Yên province, and a later move to the city to study painting — to trace social, political and historical issues in Vietnam through individual, at times dark and at times playful, human stories. he has exhibited at Sàn Art, Manzi Art Space, the Japan Foundation, the Luggage Store Gallery and elsewhere, and participated in the Skylines with Flying People series.
