about
a.Farm and Galleri Memphis welcome you to the launch of the art book “Paintings by Lady Frieda Harris 1938 – 1943”, featuring reprints of the Thoth Tarot deck on a larger scale, and an introduction text by painter and Tarot reader Cara Lien.
The Thoth Tarot deck was designed by famous occultist Aleister Crowley. The artist behind the paintings on the deck, Lady Frieda Harris (1877-1962), remains much less known. She was a symbolist painter whose works most audiences have only seen in card-size.
Copies of the book will be available for viewing and sale.
Painting workshop with artist-in-residence Espen Iden:
The participants will draw a Tarot, interpret the symbols, colors and/or name of the card using their intuition, then create their painting using oil on a canvas. After finishing painting, participants may present the painting and talk about their choices (optional).
Workshop fee: VND 500,000
Tarot readings
Throughout the day, Tarot reader Cindy will be available for readings using the Thoth Tarot deck.
