about
the installation of ‘It seems to be’, a video work by Dao Tung at Hoàng Thị- phân đà Mùa Hè Tan Nát Coffee Shop marks MoT+++’s first +1 museum by any other name.
up the banyan, the ant climbs alas, dead-end, futile crawl up the peach tree, the ant creeps broken branches, to-and-fro (artist’s statement)
about the artist Dao Tung (b. 1983, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam). his work experiments with sound, installation and video mediums that draw from his practice as a music composer and sound artist. a graduate of the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City, Dao Tung has gone on to collaborate on performances at home in Vietnam, as well as in Korea and the USA.
MoT+++’s +1 museum by any other name is a project of multiples. it exhibits single works in separate locations across the globe, for a minimum of one year. a durational experience, +1 museum by any other name examines the relationship between work, audience and environment and uses the extended period of time to challenge the experience of each component.
thank you to our sponsors the Nguyen Art Foundation for loaning the artwork, and to Hoàng Thị- phân đà Mùa Hè Tan Nát for donating the space.
