about the host
Le Phi Long (b. 1988) is a Vietnamese visual artist based in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat. He works across site-specific installation, video, VR, painting, and research-based practices, approaching art as a mode of inquiry into how history, belief systems, and structures of power are perceived, archived, and reconfigured in the present.
Grounded in the context of postcolonial Vietnam, Long's practice focuses on sites where the sacred and the secular intersect — particularly through Catholicism, architecture, landscape, and technological systems. Drawing on historical, geographical, and socio-cultural research, his works examine how collective memory, cultural transformation, and survival are shaped by colonial legacies and contemporary economic and technological conditions.
Since 2016, Long has been developing the long-term research project Dong Duong Lang Du, which investigates the historical residues of French Indochina and their ongoing influence on identity, migration, and memory in contemporary Vietnam. Since 2020, his practice has increasingly explored questions of vital energy, perception, and world-making, treating technology not as a spectacle of the future but as a living archive in which memory remains unstable and contested.
Long is a co-founder of eNAME Art Center in Hanoi (2012) and Lamvien Art Center in Da Lat (2017). He has participated in numerous exhibitions, residencies, and public programs internationally across Asia, Europe, and the United States, and has been a member of the MoT+++ collective since 2020.
about the space
P.artspace is an interdisciplinary practice space at the intersection of art, architecture, and other creative fields. Founded by artists Le Phi Long and Quinn, the project aims to connect and advance practice across diverse platforms. The space prioritizes deep intellectual inquiry, opening multidimensional conversations that create comprehensive experiences and impactful actions.
collaboration
P.artspace can organize and connect residents with practices in spatial installation, site-specific research, and deep dialogues around architectural thinking and art spaces embedded in everyday life. The space can also bridge connections to print workshops, woodworking studios, or specialists in fields like VR, and university professors — particularly those at Bach Khoa and Yersin universities specializing in architecture. Support is available for evaluating large-scale works with complex structures, discussing strategy, and connecting residents with appropriate production teams for their work.
